Where can I find information on landing a site on Wordpress?

Hello. I'm starting to learn Wordpress. There is a lot of information on the web on creating templates and other information on creating simple pages with wordpress. But there is practically nothing where it is described how to put the finished layout on this cms.
Tell me where you can read and / or watch a video about landing the finished layout on WordPress?
Plus, maybe someone knows how in English there will be a query in Google "landing a page / site on WordPress"?

I usually do this:
Install a CMS , usually it has a demo template and often more than one.
I parse it, I look where is pure html, and where are some calls.
If it is not immediately obvious which call is responsible for what, then we circle the block with red outline, border or background.
Gradually I transfer what I need to my test template (at first, you can just take a blank page).
For more complex things, it remains to think a little, google and think again :)
