Where can I find an honest programmer for hourly pay?
There is a task. I want to sit and do it together with the programmer, seeing his screen and how it works and testing with him. Is it possible to find a person for hourly pay on such terms? And where can you find that the work was done in good faith?
Before that, I tried to do a turnkey task, but the deadlines were delayed and not what was needed was done, I think hourly payment would be more effective.

You will never find a programmer with hourly pay without spending a minute of the time taken into account for “tea”, no one will agree to conditions with total control for a regular fee, only with a good extra charge, and even then it is unlikely.
It is probably better for you to clearly discuss the deadlines and separately stipulate that in case of exceeding the deadlines, we can reduce the total amount of payment by 5% for each day of delay due to the fault of the contractor. Well, of course, all the requirements for the product and the technologies used should be specified in the TOR. In the case of an additional "I want this bun" on your part, the term is negotiated again.
And what about honesty or dishonesty?
But a worthless programmer (beginner), who knows little and knows how and experiences fierce competition - he may have a desire to cheat the customer.
But if you follow it, it still won't make the program better.
And it won't make it much faster to write.
Just post such an ad on a freelance site.
immediately mention this interesting condition of yours.
But ...
The time of qualified people will be a little expensive.
Master?
;)
And more:
The programmer often climbs into help reference books,
looks for solutions to similar problems on the Internet.
I suspect you don't want to pay for this time?
And why, exactly? All these actions have the ultimate goal of solving your problem.
"The wrong thing was done" - has nothing to do with the type of payment.
In order for the result to be as it should be, it must be very carefully formalized in advance, that is, described in printed words.
This is good for projects that do not have a formal description.
But ... For you as a customer, it will be expensive.
You will not see at the initial stage that the project went wrong.
You see it only at the very end of the work.
If you tell a programmer to do it differently, then a programmer on an hourly rate will gladly do it. You will pay him back.
Do you need it?
This payment method does not solve your problem of getting what you need.
And if you save money (and you definitely want to save money, because the payment of a more or less qualified programmer is from 2000 rubles for 1 hour of work),
then the quality of the work of a bad programmer with hourly payment will not be higher, but the terms (and amount) of payment for the work of a bad programmer will still be big.
;)
1. I bet that I can work on another project right in front of you - and you won't find out.
2. Yes, practice as you wish. There are even a lot of special programs that draw beautiful graphics, keep track of what software worked when an employee had a computer, take screenshots, and generate reports.
3. It is better to coordinate this with the programmer in advance. Not everyone likes to have someone standing behind them. Not everyone even likes when their smartphone is looked over their shoulder. And here - the main workplace, a computer - even more so.
4. Yes, as usual.
On freelance exchanges and through acquaintances.
Full of conscientious and swindlers.
5. But the determining factor, nevertheless, is money.
If you are not ready to pay them, no amount of watching the screen will help.
If you are ready to pay them - you can not waste time, do not peep.
There are 2 problems here:
6. Delaying deadlines is solved by motivation such as late fees / bonuses for overfulfillment.
7. Paying by the hour won't solve your problem, paying by the hour will solve the programmer's problem.
He simply does not want an inaccurately formulated task a hundred times for fixed money.
If you pay by the hour - you can count on more quality.
But, of course, it will be much more expensive.
If you want both quality and savings, you need to formulate the task in the most detailed way.
And don't be fooled by low prices.
When I act as a customer in my field of activity, I receive offers to do it as much as 10 times cheaper and faster than it is physically possible (and this is not true, I myself am a specialist in this field).
So it is important to properly negotiate with your toad.
Your question sounds like this: where can I find a writer for an hourly wage so that I can stand behind him and watch him write and tell him if anything?
This is the most common practice - screenshots.
Search where and usually.
But that won't help you.
I can work on someone else's project in front of your eyes.
This will not affect the quality of work either -
what's the difference how to pay a bad programmer.
He won't learn to the level of a pro in the blink of an eye.
Why bad?
I think you just didn’t deal with good ones, since the work of good programmers usually satisfies the customer.
Ultimately, the hourly wage is beneficial not to you but to the programmer.
If you are ready to overpay for what the programmer does and remakes - the flag in your hands, go ahead and with a song for the hour.
Many people do not like it when the screen is tracked. Formulate a task (so that there is "what you need"), agree on deadlines, pay and do not interfere with people's work. So that the deadlines are not disrupted - correctly write down the payment schedule and penalties for delays by stages.
Any employer who wants to put something on my tracking computer is repulsed.
If there is no trust, then there will be no mutually beneficial cooperation.
I have always worked only where the work gave benefits not only to the employer in the form of my contribution to the product being sold, but also for me personally. And my "goodies" are not only money, but for example, developed skills that can be useful not only for current tasks and a number. other intangible values.
And if a person has nothing but money, then there is no point in working with him. If the hands are out of the shoulders, money can be found elsewhere.
I mean, you, the author of the question, should look for someone with whom at least some time "you are on the way." And this involves communication with the future "partner" and not superficial. You should not look for someone who writes cool code, but does not "burn". Look at github, bitbucket, maybe somewhere else. Check out the blogs. Look not just as another person who knows what while and for are, but as a person who has his own inner world. Look into it. He will understand what drives him and therefore know how to motivate. Having a motivated person will not need to be pushed and pushed.
Firstly, experienced, good programmers almost never work on an hourly basis. Secondly, to paraphrase your question: Where can I find an honest doctor who will do what you tell him to do on an hourly basis, and not what his knowledge and the Hippocratic oath tell him to do. Thirdly, "standing above the soul" it only worsens the result if the task is not simple.
Choose a programmer the same way you choose a doctor: find a good one and trust him completely, sometimes consulting with other good doctors to make sure everything is going well.
