There is a task to organize the place of the cashier. Basically, all work will go through the remote desktop, so weak hardware is quite suitable. I would like to put a nettop to save space. But you need the ability to connect a magnetic card reader, and they are usually hung on the com port. Everything that I found on the net in announcements and reviews is either discontinued or not in stores.

After several days of torment, consulting with 1s integrators, we came to the conclusion that this is not realistic through RDP. Everything that went through someone was hung through com-usb adapters, there were no problems.
