Where can I buy/download images of a given theme?

Good afternoon!
I understand that there is a carload of free libraries, you can scan books, but still. I would like to get a set of pictures/photos/vectors on a certain topic in the same style
for a pet project . For example, the national costumes of a certain region of the early 20th century or the birds of Germany. In freeware libraries, you can pull, everything is legal, but they are all inconsistent (not only in size and format, but also in style). Like for example (just the first one in the search): All in the same style, "one hand" drawn. Ideally: a set on a narrow topic, you download 100 images and you can use it (albeit with a link to the source) for a sane, one-time paid 10USD.


PS If there is no such thing, is it legal to scan books from the USSR era (there is not a word about copyright) and edit and use images from them?

Copyright has not been cancelled. Not everything can be stolen, where the license and copyright are not indicated.
