When raising an openvpn server in Mikrotik, there is an Add default route, what is it used for, so that connected vpn clients have access to the Internet?

Did I get it right? "What is this Add default route checkbox for? And if this checkbox has nothing to do with connecting the Internet access of vpn clients, then what should I do so that VPN clients have access to the Internet via VPN? Thank you in advance!

When this option is enabled, all traffic from clients will go through the VPN server, incl. and internet.
If you do not plan to distribute the Internet through VPN, then there is no point in turning it on.
One more moment. With this option enabled, if the VPN server is not on the same network as the client, then the VPN may fall off immediately after connecting. So that the VPN does not fall off, the route to the VPN server must be registered on the clients statically through the default gateway when the VPN is not connected.
