What Yii extensions can be used for the corporate portal?

The main tasks are document storage (assumed to be converted to pdf), a knowledge base, and a news feed that falsely looks like categorized twitter rather than blogs.
I want to say right away that this is my initiative, and there are no clear requirements. The portal will be located on the internal network without access from outside and will not be used by the entire company, but only by the IT department. I would also be grateful for ideas that can be added there from those who have done such projects for their department.

Are you sure that Yii is the right solution for you? Have you evaluated other solutions? Yii is a framework (framework) on which you need to make a decision. You can try to assemble from modules, but I'm afraid that you will not get the expected effect.
If you need a ready-made solution, then look towards Bitrix or other analogues. Here you need to understand clear business requirements.
If you want to write on your own, then be prepared for the fact that you will find 10-30 percent of the functionality with extensions, and the rest with pens.

You would specify the platform. Any conversion of documents is done through third-party software, which most often depends on the platform.

Well, users, rights, nested-set for storing knowledge base categories, redactorjs for normal content layout, otherwise not all cooks know markup languages like html or markup, and the rest, perhaps.
In general, since you have Windows 2003 Server, why not ASP.NET MVC?
