What would you recommend for a simple nameserver?

Today namecheap.com had another kycosis:
status.namecheap.com/archives/19348
All their nameservers were unavailable, and the domains that were there, of course, did not resolve.
Advise, plz, some simple nameserver for such cases.
Don't want to mess with bind.
Is there anything more lightweight?
PS: If possible, please send the link to the manual to raise it to centos.

NSD - simple, reliable, stands on root servers.

You can also try CloudFlare, they offer some functionality besides DNS, and within reasonable limits it's free.
