What would be more correct, syslog arduino?

Good afternoon, there is an arduino connected to a pc via usb, there are 4 sensors, which would be more correct:
1. arduino sends data via syslog to a given ip
2. a service is written and installed on a pc, requests data from sensors and sends to a given ip

IMHO
1. more reliable, because there is no additional link
2. more flexible, because the data read from the sensor can be somehow interpreted - and the logic of this can be easily corrected without reprogramming the duina.
Considering that it is not difficult to reflash a duin, I vote for option 1.
