What web service for people is not yet?

Hello toaster.
For my thesis at the university, I started to write a web service in Python (Python). I stay away from content and news projects (for now). I'm looking for an idea specifically for a service, albeit duplicating another one. In the beginning, I even thought about mainstream services such as

• link shortener
  
• image hosting
  
• meme generator
  
• voting a la Battle of the Brands
  

but no matter how hard you try, you can’t come up with anything on top of these ideas, and it’s not really necessary. It is also important that I will do all this myself, and I will draw icons, typeset, write back-end if necessary, etc., so something big needs to be immediately weeded out.
Please tell me something on the topic.
