What video format and codec to use for rendering in HLS (After Effects)?

There is a task to render a custom video with sound in AfterEffects. Struggling with render time optimization, format settings and encoding. Below are a couple of questions.
What output video formats and codecs should be used for subsequent encoding in HLS and mp4? Now we use ffmpeg for conversion, but there is a problem: we cannot find such a format for the render result, so that later using ffmpeg you can turn it into HLS and mp4, now the sound is lost.
The second option that we consider for optimizing render time is a frame-by-frame render. How in this case to work with a sound, besides formats/codecs?
