What version of ubuntu should I use to fully work with Ruby on Rails???

The fact is, I did not work on Linux, so I do not know what is better to use and how. And I just want to use ubuntu without graphics to work with Ruby on Rails. Which version to use and how can I install (i.e. from an Internet it will turn out) ???
