What values to choose when configuring PostgreSQL server?
Good afternoon.
I want to tweak the PostgreSQL server settings to get a performance boost. I ran a little through the documentation, but I didn’t really understand what values \u200b\u200bwould be optimal.
The server itself is on 8 cores, 64 GB RAM.
So far I've set the parameter values like this:
shared_buffers: 16GB
work_mem: 128MB
maintenance_work_mem: 512MB
max_wal_size: 1GB
min_wal_size: 80MB
effective_cache_size = 4GB
Everything else is default.

Until you admit what your load profile is and on what charts you saw the shelf, leave the settings at default.
