What USB modems work in Android 1.6?

I have a tablet (Eken M003) with a usb host, I want to get a mobile connection on it. In the search, Huawei E220 comes across all the time, but it has been discontinued. Huawei E1550, which is still in the branches of the striped operator, could not be launched. Does anyone else have tried options? Negative experiences are also welcome.

On smartqmid.ru/ in one of the old topics I came across information (and even instructions) about a huawei e1550 running on 1.6. But they all have 2.1 there now, so only if you look somewhere in old topics
