What type of GPS in Ipad2 3g?

I'm interested in this moment - will it determine my position without the Internet, well, that is. without calls to the server to update the almanac.

Here one seller told me that he would determine the coordinates from the towers and he did not need to go to the Internet. I believe weakly, but it says here that GSM (GPRS) coverage is not necessary to start AGPS.

This I mean, does it even make sense to buy a 3g version because of one GPS for traveling in roaming?

Here is the article in English.
What you are interested in:
Yes: GPS and AGPS.
What it means: If you have internet, your location and satellites will be quickly found.
Without it, from a cold start, it may take several minutes, but it will also find it and lead it like a pretty one.

Without the Internet, the almanac will be downloaded from satellites, like in the good old days, when GPS was already there, and these-your-Internets were just pecking. The only difference is that the transmission from satellites is quite slow, so a cold start will take longer than with A-GPS, but still within a minute (depending on the environment, of course).

Well, if navigation is needed, then yes; if not, then no.

If there is a phone that can distribute "Internet" via wifi, then there is no point in 3g. I take without 3g.

A friend with an iPad is not yet available, but my iPhone 3G (with a SIM card pulled out) does not want to determine anything.

If we take the "Internet" from iPhona, then iPad2 will receive the coordinates.
Here is the video and the link where it says.
