What tool would you recommend for bulk adding metadata to images?

Greetings . I'm
interested in some simple program that can add only the necessary metadata (author, creation date, etc.) and not sew a bunch of its data into the image. Interested primarily in the desktop application for mac.
What do you advise?

Better console ImageMagick than GUI.
