What to study to become an infosec specialist?
In general, I like to look for system vulnerabilities, gain access to databases, etc. For example, calculate the location by ip, sites where its owner registered, etc. I am not bad at understanding the network device (superficially - how the network works, architecture, etc.), I have experience in programming (small). To study further, to become a specialist in this field? !!!I am fond of info.security, legal hacking!!! - for admin

1. To become an information security specialist, you must first develop the ability to independently seek answers to elementary questions. The blessing of answers to them - including at this forum - is through the roof.
2. The second thing that an information security specialist should understand is that one should not start with how to "search for system vulnerabilities, gain access to databases, etc. For example, calculate location by ip, sites where its owner registered, etc. "
In order to become an Information Security Specialist, one must first become an Information Technology Specialist. And only then, perhaps, you will be able to "hone" and develop previously acquired knowledge in the direction of "information security". And superficial knowledge - and network technologies, and programming, and system architectures, and databases, and reverse engineering, and traffic analysis, and information security audit, and system administration, and cryptanalysis, and mobile application security, and much more - you will not get by.
3. It even became interesting - what is your passion for " info.security, legal hacking". Just what have you already done? What can you do? What are you studying? Not on the forum, of course, but in an adult way? Especially if you still don’t understand, but what actually needs to be studied?

Somehow I answered a similar question, I'll go look, I'll update the answer...
Here It's a bit not about what to study. This is mainly about what a real information security specialist does (and not the movie character from War Games that you write about. Reality in information security is dry and boring, like a list of firewall rules)
