What to read outside school hours?

You don't always have access to a computer. What beginner books can you read related to Java that do not require direct interaction with the language, but provide useful information? If the book is not directly related to Java, then also advise, please.

Read the basics - Fowler, McConnell, Gang of Four. For a change - Joel Spolsky; it's funny that all programmers use his site, but few people know who he is and what cool articles he wrote.
