What to look for when choosing a foreign registrar?

I intend to register a domain through one of the foreign registrars, since ours either do not register in the selected zone, or they take it expensive. Domain in the .report zone. Registrar: domaine.fr
I chose it because the price is not high and it is possible to rent immediately for a long period, up to 10 years.
Previously, I registered only in Russian, and never in foreign countries, so I am concerned about the following question: how to choose a foreign registrar so that there are no pitfalls? What challenges might there be in the future?
So far I have heard only about the impact of sanctions.
