What to learn to grow towards DevOps?

Hello. I am a student, now learning Linux at a basic level. Something like that: basic commands, system monitoring (top, htop, ps), bash, awk, sed, vim. I noticed that the following profession is now very popular, and it is called: DevOps. What do you need to study to qualify for this post? Networks (OSI model, VLAN, NAT, Route) and SQL cause me particular difficulties now. But it seems that python is not so difficult. So, is it possible to become a DevOps without knowing networks and SQL at all? Or is it absolutely necessary?

DevOps stands for Development Operations.
The day-to-day tasks of a DevOps engineer include managing the application infrastructure (mainly the web).
What such an engineer should know and be able to do - for example, by clicking a button in the right data center, an application was deployed. DevOps should be able to create this interface with a button and automate the process of purchasing an instance (for example, in AWS), installing the operating system and necessary packages, delivering the application to this instance, writing all the settings in the application and bringing the application to full combat readiness, i.e. the state in which users can be allowed to access the application.
Points you need to know and be able to:
DevOps is the hipster version of the programming sysadmin. You need to be able to learn very quickly and constantly master new technologies. If a technology is only in alpha, you should already be learning how to use it. At the time of the beta, you should already run it in pilot projects, and the release should be automatically installed in production.

And you can't know everything. DevOps is like enikey. Where the wind blows, it teaches.

Listen, you can still learn lisp if you want to be DevOps, where there is big data there is lisp,
where there is DevOps, there is often work with data and its analysis, well, or close work with analysts.
You probably shouldn’t worry about networks, it’s a couple of laboratory work to do and everything will be understood.

Igor Shtompel, a regular contributor to the System Administrator magazine,
a technical expert, offered a discussion in the System
Administrator magazine not only about the benefits and demand for DevOps engineers,
but also what project experience and technical skills are now needed for a new
vacancy in companies.
Collaboration between developers and system administrators helps reduce
the hassle of implementing large distributed systems. Now
IT processes happen in less time. It is easier
for a business to keep up with both competitors and the market.
The tasks of customers and end users were not left without attention . This technical union influenced the methodology
trinities: people, processes and tools, namely DevOps. That is,
resources and capabilities are optimized not only in the IT team, but
also in the entire technical environment of the company.
With the correct implementation and building of a DevOps culture,
problems and errors are found faster, and, accordingly, their solution is already faster
. Applications become more reliable, CLA is observed.
DevOps engineers have enough experience in both areas: they are good
sysadmins and great developers. Therefore, they are highly demanded in the
labor market. In universities, at this stage, there is no such specialization yet.
And there are few good DevOps specialists. Therefore, a regular contributor to the journal "System
administrator”, technical expert - Igor Shtompel starts a new column in the journal “System Administrator” about DevOps direction in IT projects. More details in the VKontakte group of the System Administrator magazine https://vk.com/samag?w=wall-26064343_870 You can leave your suggestions, participation in the future section as an author, interviewer in the comments of the VK group or on the publication's website.
