What to do "This device requires a WIA driver" for the BearPaw 2448 TA Pro Scanner?

The scanner does not work on Windows 7 64 bit
1) installed the driver in Win Xp compatibility mode
2) scanned a couple of pages, and then it got stuck and I restarted it, now this error
3) reinstalling the driver repeats everything described above, it works for a couple of minutes and that's it.
4) in VirtualBox WinXp also scans every other time
