What is the essence of the problem, lately (about six months) I can’t force myself to do anything. After work, when I come home, all I can do is sit down and watch videos on YouTube, and they are absolutely useless. Although it would be necessary to do what is necessary (learning programming for example). What is done in such cases? I feel like a vegetable. I can't help myself.

Alternatively, use this habit for good. Visiting YouTube has become a habit, now you need to cultivate viewing the right content.
You should start with short useful videos on the subject of the profession or something about soft skills. I am sure that no drastic changes will follow, but the cult of useful content will bear fruit.
For example, to study something thoroughly, you need to smoke 3-4 hour videos + practice, but in reality, few people have such enthusiasm, therefore, as an option, start with 5-15 minute videos. Just start.
I had exactly the same story, only instead of YouTube I read a toaster)))) Realizing that I couldn’t help myself, I began to look through 300-400 tips from different topics daily, including headings in which I am a complete zero. And later I cultivated a useful search + collection of useful materials, including from comments.
I bought a diary where I draw or write down something about what I watch and read, pushing myself to new knowledge. This is a kind of meditation. I was always skeptical about diaries, but it turned out to be funny how such a thing can anchor and remind you: don't stop, dude!
At one point, I realized that I wanted to delve into issues and jumped from the toaster to videos, books and practice. I started the same way, with banal things that I cultivated. For example, what is a color? And for 15-20 minutes every day I read something, looked and studied, until I wanted to do it for 30 minutes a day. some things I want to do now for 3-4 hours a day.
My message is that there will be no drastic change. And for a change to happen, you yourself must say to yourself: well, it's time for me to go to the next level. To get to the next level, surround yourself with the information field of the current one until this information seems to be learned.
Again, if you feel that life is going like a vegetable, start with the most primitive things and the simplest daily tasks. For example, tomorrow do the same, just watch 10 minutes of a video that is useful, for example, about soft skills. Tomorrow, bullshit again, but watch again for 10 minutes and so on. In a month and a half, the dose will increase, and you can use your habit for good.

Since YouTube itself is on the side of the brain and slips interesting videos one by one, you need to neutralize this problem. Log out, remove passwords from the manager for quick access, set a complex password that takes a long time to type. Not all of these will work, but some of them may work. Videos on YouTube will become less interesting.
Of course, the search will work, the hands themselves will type the names of the channel that is interesting - but we have set a small bandwagon on the way to an easy buzz.
Then you need to tell yourself, for example, from now on I watch YouTube only in the morning, instead of in the evening. You can watch as much as you want, the main thing is not to watch in the evening. I don't want to get up early. Let the two habits fight each other. Here, either the habit of getting up early will appear, or YouTube will leave. The first couple of days there will be early rises, the mood will worsen, and after a couple of days you will want to quit it. And okay, but we again slightly moved the border of the front.
Then you can allow yourself to watch videos only on your phone (only on a computer) - make it so that the brain is uncomfortable, unusual. So, too, you can hold out for several days, until there is a breakdown. But it's not scary. This is a lost battle, there will be many.
Let instead of YouTube, one evening there will be videos from Vimeo.
In the later stages, you can let yourself watch YouTube, only in those weeks (days or months) when he himself published something. The brain will suffer - meaningless videos will appear on the channel that formally meet the criterion, just to extend themselves a little more YouTube. But we are with the brain on different sides of the barricades. Everything that is bad for him is good for overcoming the habit.
You can calm yourself all day at work with the thought that in the evening I will watch YouTube, and then when there is at least a slight surge of willpower, I can go for a walk without a phone and go far by metro so that I can’t return quickly.
The main thing is to take all these drastic actions when self-hatred conquers the habit and you are ready for decisive action. It is very important to do as much as possible in this small window of insight, so that when the habit takes over again, the brain suffers as much as possible.
I myself am like that, I know that these tips in the style of "need a strong-willed decision" - they do not work. When the brain wants a high, it will get it. Our task is simply to prevent him at all possible stages. And in moments of enlightenment, prepare a weapon for the moment when it will flood again.

Somehow recently I plunged into one project, where I had to work 15 hours a day, there was only time left for sleep and solving operational matters. The problem of social networks disappeared during this period (4 months lasted). Now I ran away from that project and again the same problems.
In short, it is necessary to find an occupation or several that cannot be evaded (probably so that there is responsibility to someone) and at the same time, which is useful for oneself.

How many tips do not read about time management, but the best way is just to score. For me personally, it works great, although I also studied this issue closely and read many articles before. Few things work through the will, because it is short-lived, it only works for short distances, like getting up every day at 6:00. I got up and forgot. It's the same with YouTube, you are fighting with yourself. Let go of this situation and allow your brain to watch YouTube, then this problem will go out of your head, because you are not fixated on it.
