Domain name market
Tpy6okyp, 2016-04-28 01:34:39

What to do if you launched a project - and someone copied it?

We have a hypothetical situation: We set up a
site with an original theme, registered a domain (for example, .com or .net) and made a simple site on a free CMS.
They also made registrations in a couple of social networks.
A month later, the whole idea and essence of our site was copied and exactly the same project was organized on a domain with the same name only in .ru
. They invested more money in the copied project than we did in ours, and their site became popular.
What and how to do in this situation?

The essence and idea of the project - do not cost anything at all.
Implementation without traffic of a project that can be done on "free cms" - does not cost anything.
They are worth something (in descending order): a working business model, a loyal audience, a complex technical implementation.

Bite your elbows. I doubt you have any legal right behind this idea.
You just have to invest more in marketing and develop the project in order to lure the audience.

It is quite difficult and expensive to get someone to remove stolen content from their site. But, so that they don’t systematically steal from you, you can use, for example, the Yandex webmaster https://webmaster.yandex.ru/content/?service=ORIGINALS
features that are difficult to steal.
