What to do if the printer does not work?

Recently bought GIGABYTE B360M D2V motherboard and Intel processor. But the HP LaserJet 1100 printer was connected to the old motherboard via LPT, but the new one does not. There is an LPT - USB cable. When a printer is connected via this cable, the printer is installed, added to Devices and Printers, but does not print! What to do and how to be? Thanks in advance for your detailed answer!

All 1100s have a non-standard mini-Centronix connector on the cable and printer
Resolving issues with the MiniCentronics connector .
