What to do if the Android Studio emulator does not start?
Faced a problem. When I downloaded Android Studio, I ran into a problem when starting the emulator, it gives an error: "Emulator: PANIC: Cannot find AVD system path. Please define ANDROID_SDK_ROOT" and I can't do anything about it, I tend to think that I changed the folder during installation, where Android Studio and the SDK were installed for 2 reasons:
1) There is not enough memory on the C drive (and I can’t expand it for some reason)
2) The username consists of Cyrillic
Everything that I found on the Internet did, but the problem does not disappear!

Try defining ANDROID_SDK_ROOT as the environment variable where the SDK is located (the default path will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk)
