What to choose for hosting sites and web applications with a backend on AWS?
I was looking for an inexpensive and reliable VPS abroad, I chose AWS.
But AWS has a wagon and a cart of various services and tariffs for them. From what I found, EC2 or Lightsail instances seem to fit.
For the web, Amazon recommends Lightsail, but there are occasional references to using EC2 for the "regular" web.
What to choose? What are the key differences between these plans, which is better suited?
Has anyone used it and can advise?

Take digital ocean, hetzner cloud and other vps, aws is simply not needed for simple sites.
The first rule of AWS - if you do not have many years of experience in setting up networks and virtual machines - we pass by. Take Digital Ocean and don't worry.
Lightsail provides a simplified EC2 deployment, nothing more. EC2 is a virtual machine launch service
I would reformulate Ivan Shumov : If you have no experience in setting up AWS services, it's better not to take on AWS. Unless, of course, you're willing to take the time to study.
It’s best to take a hetzner or another VPS where the
AWS hoster will set up the entire infrastructure for you, it simply won’t do this for you, and any jamb in the setup will cost you additional expenses
. AWS takes money for every sneeze. There is often a situation when, due to incorrect settings, your money flies into the pipe. Therefore, there is an opinion that AWS is expensive.
