What to choose for e2e testing in 2016?

The question of e2e testing arose and I just can’t decide on a choice. The criteria are the most common, so that everyone can do it, that is, they want to test both angular and reactjs native code. What do you advise?
And a small offtopic question, which prompted me to write this one. from the first seconds, the choice fell on the top position in the issuance of Google - webdriver.io. But the impression of the design of his api quickly collapsed from the wall of "I don't understand what to do." What I did was to set up the localhost:3000 server on the express and specify it in the webdriver.io config. But the run fails with "ERROR: entire html page". Today, suddenly, I saw in the docks that the address and port belong to selenium-server. Do I need to raise another selenium-server server? If not difficult, comment on this point.

@copal

Recently I went to Yandex.subbotnik there just talked about testing with Selenium, if it helps, listen to https://events.yandex.ru/lib/talks/3341/ unfortunately the entry has not yet been posted, but should be posted this week.
I just haven’t done front-end for a long time and I can’t tell you (
And my friends said that they write on protractor with angularjs
