What to choose for ARM 11?

Good time of the day! Finally I bought myself a Tiny6410 , with a screen included.
Having played enough with pre-installed systems (Android 2.3, Ubuntu, Qtopia, Windows CE6), I realized that I needed to move on.
The parameters are almost the same as those of Raspberry Py
CPU: S3c6410 667Mhz
RAM: 256Mb
Rom: 2 GB
The other day I want to solder the core power regulator and rebuild U-Boot for a frequency of 800MHZ, also re-solder the RAM and increase it to 512Mb, and try to run it. But before that I want to figure out which system to work with.
I work mainly in Linux (there are Fedora and Arch on the laptop), I installed Debian on the board, but which DM to choose so that it doesn’t slow down?
What Linux friendly system with gui capability do you recommend for this hardware?
I do not advise Qtopia because it lies on angstrom linux and my soul does not lie with it. The main idea is to use this for a smart home, but again, which system to install?

Fluxbox and the *box family, xmonad (tile WM), and all this, of course, under archlinux - everything is thinner there
