What to choose for a home web server?
So, the question arose of organizing a cheap mini server for working at home.
Of the requirements:
- silent.
- to set it up once, turn it on and forget it, I plan to hide it under the section with drawers near the table.
- so that there is a normal Linux distribution for it (in the sense, well-optimized)
- so that it does not slow down when working through remote access.
- ideally wi-fi, but this is not critical
- more or less normal performance.
- connecting an ssd to it (also not critical)
- to be ready to work "out of the box", i.e., to have a power source, a port for a flash drive, usb, hdmi, lan ...
- an adequate price
What will I do with it ?
- git
- webserver
- ftp
- ssh
- external access
- storage of archive with projects

If you want to get an inexpensive, silent and microsized solution - I would recommend renting a VPS :) I do it myself, the needs are almost the same.
I picked up a laptop with a broken screen at a local flea market. Wi-fi, battery lasts for 6 hours, no noise, 2008r2 turns, if desired, an external monitor is connected. And 2500 is all fun.
