What storage system to buy?

Hey! I have three servers with esxi, each full of disks. Now, I think it's time to buy a storage system. It's too expensive for FC
.
Preferably for 3.5 SAS / SATA drives, at least 8 pieces ..
I’m looking at prices now, and it’s getting so sad)

Either here www.synology.su/products/126 (for example), or self-assembled on motherboards .. let's say from supermicro

If there is a question of limited budget, then self-collection is better. FreeBSD + ZFS, plus an SSD drive for L2ARC cache. Although it depends on the type of workload, if there is mostly data writing and little reading, then L2ARC can be dispensed with.

And if the budget allows, look towards the NetApp E2700 family for 12 disks or, if you need more than just block access, look at the NetApp FAS 2500 line. Over the next six months, people will be waving the release of new lines to replace the NetApp E2700 and FAS 2500, as a result, they should noticeably cheaper in sales.
Relatively cheap block storage will also be the HP MSA2000 family, but the same NetApp E2700 is noticeably cooler in terms of performance and capabilities.
PS Oh, now they will throw mud at me ...

iSCSI for the database, IF many transactions are a dubious pleasure, the latency of Ethernet is too high. From experience, it was like that and even 10GB as a test did not help much. Switched to FC 8Gb - sighed. Storage self-assembly on Supermicro, 24 SAS disks, Qlogic 2652, FC target masters Ubuntu.
