What ssd to put in imac, sata or pcie?
Hello friends, the question is: how to upgrade imac 2019 with fusion drive
1. Let's say I want to install sata ssd, is it enough for me to install it instead of hdd or should I also pull out the regular blade?
2. Let's say I want to put pcie (it's faster), although with it the case will heat up more. Should I leave the sata drive or remove it so that it does not crack once again?
3. And actually the last question: in terms of speed, pcie is preferable to sata, but will pcie cause excessive overheating of the system? There is an experience when an owc ssd in a MacBook pro mid-2012 caused a system panic and further processor throttling with its heating.

1. You need to completely pull out the regular hdd and blade.
2. Everything is optional here, if you want two drives, then leave it, if not, then remove it.
3. In Mac OS, in the service settings through the Linux terminal, you need to turn off the function that not only overheats the processor, but also damages the SSD, in Windows you need to install boot camp tools.
But you will need a bootable USB flash drive with acronis for OS migration.
So far, I see it as optimal to install m.2 ssd.
You still have to unscrew mb from Imac.
But we get good output speeds.
And I think you need to take a "calm" ssd, like the Intel 660p series. The speed is enough for the eyes and the price is adequate, and most importantly, it will not get very hot.
