What specialty to choose for the development of radio-electronic equipment?

Good afternoon. Not much advice needed. In general, I want to learn how to develop various electronic devices using microprocessors and microcontrollers and everything related to this. At the moment I plan to enter the faculty of radio engineering and electronics of the local polytechnic. I chose the specialty 11.03.03 "Design and technology of electronic means", I would like to know if this specialty is suitable for what I need? I understand that the program at universities is not the most recent, but in any case, knowledge in fundamental issues is necessary, especially since you will have to master modern technologies on your own.

It will do.
But radio electronics in Russia has neither a present, nor a future, nor money.
He studied at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University with a degree in Design and Technology of Radio Electronic Equipment.
I am grateful to fate that I managed to jump from this specialty to an adjacent one in time.
The salary of a developer in Moscow is 50,000 rubles, in the provinces - 25,000-30,000 rubles.
Do you need it?
With development in general, everything is difficult.
I would choose something else

The easiest way to get started is with the Arduino. Having mastered, you can switch to 32-bit microcontrollers, for example, STM32.
If the capabilities of microcontrollers are not enough, then Verilog and FPGA are in a hurry to help.

For development, the specialty "Radio Engineering" "11.03.01" will be closer to you.
"Design and technology of electronic means" - there is more technology, design, etc.
