What specialty to choose a security officer or a programmer?

Is it possible to enter the IB and learn programming at the same time? (I want to be able to write not only exploits). The main question here is, what will be easier to learn on your own? (on programming, it seems to me more information)

Where did we suddenly get a sufficient number of people who know and are able to teach information security?
It is fashionable, there is a demand - that's why they teach.
The quality of teaching is highly questionable. For there is simply no one to teach students in this specialty.

compare salaries, far from being in favor of information security, not to mention universality

It is possible to be safe and not know programming. But this means more boring work on optimizing business processes, drawing up various regulations, regulations, instructions ...

I studied cybersecurity and studied programming well in parallel.

We had the first exploit in the second semester in the 4th year. Before him, there were 3 courses in languages (C, ++, Java), 3 in algorithms and programming methods, 2 in databases, 3 in computation. technology, etc. So it would not have been possible to write "only exploits" here with all your desire.
Just ask about the curriculum at the university you want to go to, or ask graduates / students there about it
