What should I do if the laptop starts showing a black screen when updating the driver (while the laptop does not turn off)?
Decided to update the driver. Downloaded the app. The first time everything was fine. Later, information appeared that the laptop could reboot itself or a black screen would appear for a while and you should not be afraid of this. Well, I've been sitting here for about two hours. The laptop works, but the screen is black (does not respond to any actions). I decided to reset Windows (there is still only a browser and one game). I read that if the laptop does not respond to actions, then you need to restart it. And while the download is in progress, press F8. But it didn't help at all.
Still the same black screen. I honestly don't know much about laptops. Or is it worth waiting for? It may still be updated. This situation threw me into a stupor. I think to contact the master, but if something prompts here, I will be grateful. (And if with details, then in general there will be a fairy tale)

Check that the laptop screen really turns on, and that there are buttons that turn it off, switch to an external monitor, or turn off the backlight.
Of course, it would be better if at least a little specialist did it, but in words:
Turn off the laptop with the button, as usual by pressing it for a short time. If the laptop does not turn off for a short time, well, half a minute, let's say, then hold the power button for 4 seconds - the standard period, well, sometimes counting up to 4 does not work, you have to wait a little longer (count up to five), in general, until it passes out. You can then also get the battery, after that wait half a minute, then re-insert the battery and turn on the laptop. "In theory," if you repeat it like this a couple of times and there really was a freeze
If the picture does not appear, repeat from the beginning, but this time press F8 repeatedly. Although in the top ten this action was redefined :( and there you must first enable the classic boot method.bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
