What should be the width of the layout with an 8px modular system?

For example, I am designing for the interface of some adaptive web service, and for the accuracy of working with horizontal and vertical indents, I need to take into account the 8px micromodule for more accurate positioning of many elements among themselves.
But with the usual widths of the content area, a 12-column grid and an 8px micromodule cannot be combined. Columns won't line up with the 8px grid if you make it 1200px wide for example. You have to set the width of the content, for example 1312px.
How much of a headache can this be when making layout? How else can you work with an even module and a 12 column system?
