What should be the Step-by-step for a future programmer in terms of training and employment?

Please share your experience, what books you need to read, how to approach learning, describe a certain step-by-step for a programmer (junior) in terms of a guaranteed job.
My story: I studied full-time at the university in the direction of "mechanical engineering", after two courses, I realized that it was not mine, became interested in programming (I was interested in it before), started studying java, eventually wrote an application for Android, posted it on Google Play and began to receive a small income from the application, about $ 100 per month or two. I transferred to a remote form of study at another university for the specialty "Informatics and Computer Engineering", but I was surprised that there were no less tasks than in full-time, the information is very old, and I transferred to a completely different city, which is very far from my place of residence (it takes 3 days to travel by train), and there you will need to go to workshops twice. As a result, I was disappointed with my studies and did nothing for a whole year. The application has ceased to generate any income. Since I can’t simultaneously solve tasks in Pascal, study physics, electrical engineering, a bunch of humanitarian disciplines (and eventually get a diploma with absolutely unnecessary knowledge) and at the same time study something really important, I don’t know what to do next. On the one hand, they say that a diploma is needed, on the other hand, I think that if I gave all my time to study any programming language, patterns, algorithms, studied C ++, it would be more useful and I would find a job faster. I have no problems with mathematics, including discrete ones. I hope for understanding and a detailed answer. It would be interesting to know if there are people who have successfully settled down without a diploma, as well as negative experiences. a bunch of humanities (and eventually get a diploma with absolutely unnecessary knowledge) and at the same time study something really important, I don’t know what to do next. in terms of guaranteed employment

We have capitalism now, no one is guaranteed to give you a job.
You ask the same question that is asked here by hundreds and you will get the same answer as the rest - practice, develop.
