Then they look at the list of things that you know. No one will read long texts, so in your profile you need to write a short list of technologies that you know and that are currently in demand on the market.

If the price is too low, then you can be considered a shit coder and weeded out by those who need a good coder.
If it is too high, it will obviously be more difficult to find a client. The price should be raised only when there are more orders than working hours.
PS if you are new to both Upwork and development in general, then you should not sit and wait for orders. You have to submit yourself. Such a luxury as waiting for orders can only be afforded by people with a good promoted profile, and that’s not a fact.

Experiments have shown that a female profile with a good photo, zero order history, impressive experience (whether it is or not), and a high hourly rate attract money customers quite well.
But after 10 orders, the order history starts to play more important.
If you don’t feel like writing an impressive experience when you don’t have it, and you don’t have a woman familiar with a good photo, then there is another way.
Dumping prices, do quality work. After 5-10 orders where you will have only 5-point rave reviews, it will be easier to find orders.
