What should be the normal download / download speed on VDS?

Tell me, what should be the normal download / download speed on VDS?
Now I rented a VDS and, when installing the package, I was confused by the speed of downloading it from the "turnip". I decided to check the download/download speed on the server. Run command on VDS

wget -O /dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test10.zip
The download speed showed ~100 K/s.
Download speed of this file, with VDS, ~175 K/s
Is this normal? Here is the correspondence with hosting support

100 MB file from digitalocean:
100%[======================================== =======>] 104,874,307 28.1M/s in
4.2s
===========================>] 104,874,307 10.3M/s in 12s
But I would suggest testing speed like this:
wget -O /dev /null cdn.debian.net/debian/dists/Debian7.3/Contents-i386.gz
100%[========================= =====================>] 21,635,892 32.3M/s in 0.6s
100%[================ ===============================>] 21,635,892 27.5M/s in 0.8s
for two virtual machines respectively.
How you do it is not a speed test on a virtual machine, but a speed test between a virtual machine and a softlayer.
You can also use the iperf utility like this:
iperf -c www.yandex.ru -p 80
This will measure the speed of communication with the face of Yandex. Also not a very accurate indicator, but it will give you an idea of \u200b\u200bspeed.

@asd111

1 Mbit is the minimum.
If there are problems with the current VDS provider, then I recommend Hetzner or digitalocean.

Try to run the benchmark from serverbear.com (you need to copy a line from the command set on their website and run it on vds), among other things (disk, processor and memory test) it does a fairly detailed download speed test from many servers around the world and then gives a picture , from where what speed was squeezed out.

yes, VDS share the channel from the server between
themselves
channels
