What should an employee do with a given task if the PM is not available for the required information, but there is a deadline?

The question is this:
on Wednesday you were given a task that needs to be completed by Monday, not all the inputs are clear to you and PM has become unavailable for clarifying questions (let's say I got sick). Colleagues are not aware of your task, there is no one to ask.
At the same time, you know 2 ways to solve the problem and you will complete it anyway, but there is a nuance: both methods have their side effects for the future of the system you are working on and which method is more suitable, again, only PM knows .
Your actions?

get sick yourself. and the question will disappear :)
ps I would send a request and wait for an answer. I have at the same time hanging such questions from a dozen. and it is not clear what to do ... according to the "sandwich" law, it turns out that you have chosen the wrong path.

Impossible to say without clarification:
What are the consequences of screwing up a deadline?
What are the consequences if the choice is wrong?
What is the price of changing the decision to another later?
If someone knows how to avoid missing a deadline, it’s better to decide somehow to redo it later. If someone dies from the wrong decision, it's better to fail the deadline.
Is it possible to somehow prepare for replacing the solution with the correct one?

If not all the input data is clear, you need to clarify them immediately. And it's also interesting how soon the PM became unavailable - it disappeared after the task was announced?

Didn't find what you were looking for?
