It would be desirable to pick up a configuration of the server that withstood 50 simultaneously working users.
Most likely, other servers will be used as domain controllers, but everything can be.
Unfortunately, he himself has experience in setting up and administering a server only in this configuration:
Debian + 1C server + PostgreSQL, and about 10 users simultaneously working in 1C thick clients on workstations.
And I can’t even imagine what iron is needed here.

For the price, it is more profitable for thick 1C clients to stand at workstations and not use RDP. But how will the grid of 50 thick 1C clients actively communicate with the server?
