Latex is easier to learn on your own, read Knuth's book "All about TeX" 5 times and write your own macros.
As a result, the typing speed will be much higher than in any trash like LyX, and the quality of the code will be excellent (that is, there will be no problems editing it later), and it will be possible to organize joint work on the document with all sorts of VCS.
PS And in general, WYSIWYG in all cases is harmful and inconvenient, depriving control at all levels.
