What resources are there to help you work with flowcharts? Or is there a better format?

What convenient programs and Internet services exist for working with flowcharts? Or does progressive humanity use some more convenient representation of algorithms?
Sometimes you get so confused in the algorithm that you generally forget what and how it was supposed to do :)
