I usually interview by discussing the applicant's former projects and our current ones. I look to see if the person understands what he is talking about, from what angle he looks at tasks, etc. I can give a car and a real working code and ask the applicant's opinion about it. Here it is important how the applicant will analyze the code, where the first thing he will climb is to see if he will use any tools, what will catch his eye, how deep he will dig, etc.

If you are not lucky, they will ask all sorts of crap that has nothing to do with future work. Practice shows that luck is quite rare.

I often see how the applicant is chased by those things that are used in exactly this way and in that particular place, trying to immediately find a candidate who can be assigned the tasks of those who have been working for more than 1 year in 3 days. When I took part in such events, I simply gave the candidate a problem that I solved myself and saw what he would do with it. In the end, he got over it. Then we talked about his, as it is now fashionable to say, background. I gave my feedback. As a result, now this person works and everyone is happy.

Last fall, I went to interviews for the position of a front-end developer in various companies (Tinkoff, Innova, Netology, Rambler, Yandex). He described his experience and gave examples of tasks from interviews - andrew-r.ru/notes/?go=all/searching-for-job-2016

1. What do you know?
2. What did you work with?
3. How much money do you want?
4. Why are you looking for a new job?

Real life is very different from what the education system teaches for many years. Here are some of the differences between life and school and university:
1. You will never know in advance what questions you will be asked. Too different companies, requirements and people who are interviewing.
2. There is no point in trying to give "correct" answers without knowing the subject anymore. Calmly answer what you know, show what you can and tell about yourself what you have. Attempting to impersonate someone else can mistakenly lead to a job, but not happily and not for long. And if they don’t, then you need to change yourself, look for a suitable place, and not select suitable answers to questions.
