What projects to look up to?

Hey Toaster.
I have a goal to reach a certain level of development (frontend) in a certain period of time.
But the matter is that I do not represent as to me to define criteria of concept: "time - a current result".
The thought came to mind - in the learning process, you can focus on open source projects (github), look at the source code, understand the code and try to do the same, in your own way (only for practice purposes).
Is this thought reasonable? If so, what projects should be focused on (if possible, I would like to see a list of examples in stages: junior, middle, senior).
PS
My knowledge stack for today: HTML & CSS - middle, JavaScript - low.
https://github.com/zhukov/webogram - what level is this?
