What programming languages are used in game dev?
Hello.
And you can clarify the programming languages that are used in game dev (and the scope of these games). According to this plate , only c++ is suitable for a game dev - is that true?

C++, Python, C# - PC
C++, Java - Android
Objective-C, Swift - iOS
etc.
It all depends on what platform you want to gamedev for.
Lua is one of the most used, as far as I know. And as an additional (to C / C ++, usually in large games like WoT, etc.), and as an independent one (usually by indie gamedevs) - both for the desktop (for example, the Love2D engine) and for smartphones (Corona SDK).
also - Python (Pygame, RenPy, Kyvy, etc. engines), for browser games - javascript.
This is if we consider scripting languages.
And so in any language you can develop a game, even in Haskell - https://wiki.haskell.org/Game_Development :)
