What program do you recommend for synchronizing files to an external hard drive over a local network?

Good afternoon. There is a laptop, a Keenetic Omni II router and an external hard drive connected to the router. Coming home from work, I want to automatically synchronize the files with which I worked during the day. Files:

  1. source codes and project databases
  2. design layouts
  3. other files

For the designated purpose, I would like to find a tool that will merge changed files to an external drive in the background without manual launch. I liked BTSync, but I couldn't set it up to work with an external hard drive. What program would you recommend based on your experience?

I solved the problem with the @MAX SyncUp program. Meets all requirements, flexible synchronization settings and additional features, such as backup. For some reason, there is little information about her in the Russian segment.

I tried both Btsync and Syncthing - the first one is slow like a tractor on the highway and the CPU loads, it used to be 100% ), the second one does not know how to proxy and is still damp (it's confusing, it's not clear with the settings, some do not work as expected. settings - darkness.)
I found a utility from Windows (I don’t remember the name, it’s too stupidly simple, I can’t customize it for myself)
I tried scripted rsync and nnbackup - I didn’t like everything. (and the interface))))
Stopped at www.FreeFileSync.org- free and great! the same goodies are present as above, the interface is on top, there is even a storage of PREVIOUS copies of files in any selected directory - i.e. fancy version control. The only thing in the program itself is that there is no scheduled launch, but this is for the best - I added the launch of FreeFileSync at night to the Windows schedule and forgot about the problems. Once a month I check the backup (by a stupid comparison of folders with files) - everything is ok.
