What program can perform a bit-by-bit copy of one hard disk to another, along with the boot sector?
Good evening!
You need to copy information from working, but with a bad smart hard drives to other, smaller ones (500-> 320). Real data on the original screws - 30 GB, the rest is free space.
Requirements:
1. Copy to a smaller disk.
2. Copying the boot sector, i.e. so that you can immediately boot from it on the same hardware.
3. Work from the screw from which copying is carried out when the OS is loaded (Win 7), i.e. using VSS.
I tried DriveImage XML, transferred 12 hours, did not copy the boot sector.
Where else to look?
Thank you.

dd
is a console tool and in this case you need minimal skills in working with linux (to determine where which disks are, their naming in the system, and when using dd, write to the desired disk)
EMNIP, sector-by-sector copying to a smaller disk is impossible (otherwise, what kind of sector-by-sector is it?)
Akronis seems to be able to, but in general with such questions in Google
