Total Commander can compare 2 directories. It is described here as
binaries on Windows can be compared with the standard fc program, fc /? gives help on parameters. if there is a difference, it will show in which bytes, if there is no difference, then it will write.
I usually use this: fc /b file1.file file2.file
diff -q 1Directory 2Directory
PS. For Windows there is a port of all linux utilities.
FAR Manager [2.0] with the Advanced Compare plugin can compare directories by content, including freeware Windows Commander.
Differenced files will be highlighted.
Tortoise Merge, part of TortoiseSvn
adds "Diff" to the context menu if 2 files are selected.
Bonus that it can compare pictures and word documents (it just launches word, but it's easier to do it)
Reasonable NoClone - compares files according to different parameters, evaluates the similarity of files. (after recovering data from a dead disk, I used it to remove duplicates)
But it is paid
+1 for Total Commander. Compares both folder-folder and folder-ftp.
There are many settings.
Here is a selection of free programs for comparing files, among which KDIFF3 deserves special attention - the utility can work with three files for comparison at once or with three directories - it can also compare them. http://www.loadboard.ru/index.php?option=com_tag&t...
at one time I wrote a program for draining file parameters (md5, size, dates, etc.) in folders and subfolders in csv (or just in a text file with separators) and then I compare these text files in kDiff. The convenience is that the resulting csv is easily imported into third-party programs where subsequent automation of actions is possible if the file has changed or has not changed.
