What percentage of the order is taken by the person who found the order?

Suppose you were offered an order for a website. How many percent are you willing to agree to work? 50 to 50? Is it normal?

I don't agree with these terms.
Refuse.
After all, [the performer] needs to spend more time, effort and energy.
The great misconception of most performers and most business start-ups is that getting a client is easy and cheap. This is not true. Finding a client and "selling" your product / service to him is not cheaper, and often it costs even more than the product itself or the cost of the service.
(Of course, there are particulars - for example, your friend manager rats orders from his employer - yes, it doesn’t cost him anything. But if we consider the entire customer chain from scratch without taking into account word of mouth, then the total amount of expenses is the sum of the development cost and support of the site/landing with the offered goods/services, + development and support of advertising, + cost of the traffic itself, + cost of sale - after all, not every visitor to the site ends up buying a product/service, + expenses for managing this entire economy, + W / P employees, + taxes - then a share of 50% of the transaction amount will be fully justified, and in many niches it will not be enough at all.)

I participate in projects both as a manager and as a developer
It's not always like that. The labor costs of a manager are highly dependent on the project and on the roles that he performs in this project.
What's the difference how much in percentage the manager will take for himself, the main thing is that you are satisfied, then how much you will absolutely receive for a specific project.

On the web, such things are not standardized. But if we draw an analogy with the design, then the GIP takes, according to the SNiP for distribution, 7%. And about 20% is allocated for the entire AUP. But this work includes not only the search for a customer, but the full administration of the project.

He agreed with the customers, set the price and terms

It doesn’t matter what percentage, just set the manager your deadlines and the amount for which you agree to complete the project.

It's strange that he gave you any percentage at all. A competent PM would give you a budget and that's it - it's up to you whether you agree or not.

Our manager takes 20%, this is normal. More, only if he brings a lot of clients, and orders from 50k

there is no such thing as how much someone should receive for their work, if there is no agreement between you in which everything is spelled out.
