Personally, my eyes get tired from two factors:
1. The crystalline effect (the effect of a wet rag), it causes terrible discomfort and, unfortunately, it is present even on the most expensive IPS matrices.
2. Screen refresh rate 60Hz , if you play games - you will be "sick" due to insufficient screen refresh rate.
The first question can be solved by buying a monitor with a .VA matrix.
( Matrices .VA .PVA .MVA .A-MVA .S-PVA .C-PVA .AHVA and its varieties do not have a crystal effect at all, and they are ideal for working with text / drafting / surfing / cinema).
Second questionyou can decide to buy a monitor with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz or 144Hz, but you will have to sacrifice very little color quality.
Human eyes are much more sensitive to the brightness of a color than to its hue.

A strong decrease in brightness and contrast helps well, you don’t need much to work with text.
For example, on my dell u2410, the brightness is now 15 out of 100.
And don't forget to take breaks.

Plus for the brightness and contrast to a minimum, I do not like the lacquer case (polished type) at the monitor and preferably some kind of anti-glare coating.
