What or how to archive (combine) files with a high level of recovery?

Hello !
There are several gigabytes of "old" files. On Linux (Centos)
We decided to archive them and "put" them on mail.ru (because it's free).
But there are fears that in case of "broken" archives, everything will be lost.
Are there any solutions for preparing archives in such a way that in case of errors with them it would be easier to restore data?
I saw a similar solution from Winrar. In our case Linux.
